Cookbook Club: Betty Crocker’s Picture Book

Saturday 6/8 from 10:30am to 1:30pm

New School of Cooking Pasadena

Each month we discuss a significant cookbook and prepare a group meal adapted from its recipes. Here’s what’s cooking this month:

Betty Crocker’s Picture Book, 1950
Betty Crocker’s Picture Book shaped a generation of home cooks in America through its color photography, practical tips and useful hints. Discuss mid-century advertising and Marjorie Husted, the woman behind the iconic Betty Crocker brand. Prepare a classic American meal straight from its pages complete with cake mix. But from scratch. ($115)

Classes meet at New School of Cooking’s Pasadena campus.
525 East Colorado Blvd, Pasadena 91101

Though reading the book prior to each class date is not necessary, it is available for sale here.
