California is known for sun, food, wine, arts, crafts, and architecture. Join Maite in an exploration of the casual lifestyle that the state’s food and architecture introduced to the world. The discussion will focus on Artisseur’s 1958 Richard Dorman FAIA-designed home where the salon will take place as well as Helen Evan Brown’s The West Coast Cook Book of 1952, which laid the foundation to what became known as California cuisine. A simple, seasonal group meal inspired by the book will be prepared and enjoyed.
