Join me for a brand new series of monthly discussions about agriculture, trade and how our taste for foods have changed the landscape of our world. Students are greeted with a topical appetizer and, after the conversation, participate in the hands-on cooking of a dish which uses the theme of the day as the main attraction.
August brings All About Avocado! Trace the history of the avocado – from a fruit first consumed in Mesocamerica around 5000 BC to today’s California avocado toast, and everything in between. Discover how this creamy fruit became a global commodity and participate in the hands-on preparation of a topical snack. ($45)
