The Taste of Art: The Petit Four

  • Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens 1151 Oxford Road San Marino, CA, 91108 United States (map)

Join Maite Gomez-Rejón of ArtBites for an engaging conversation and hands-on culinary lesson inspired by French pastry chefs.

The history of French pastries is closely tied to the royal courts of France, where master pastry chefs created intricate and delicate confections for the elite. Join Maite to trace the evolution of French pastries from the Middle Ages through the French Revolution. Discuss the role sugar and spices played in the evolution of pastries, make Renaissance sugar sculptures, and prepare petit fours for your upcoming holiday table.
