  • LA Plaza Cocina 555 North Spring Street Los Angeles, CA, 90012 United States (map)

Celebrate the holidays immersing yourself in the history of chocolate. Inspired by the special exhibition The Legacy of Cacao co-curated by Maite, trace the role of chocolate, the food of the gods, from a drink reserved for Mayan and Aztec nobility to a one consumed by European aristocrats to the wide variety of cacao beverages prepared in Mexico today.

Enjoy a tasting of chocolate de agua prepared by Maite and tejate, a beverage consisting of nixtamalized corn, fermented cacao seeds, mamey pits and rosita de cacao by a guest tejate maker.
