The Fruitcake, Reimagined

Nothing says Christmas quite like fruitcake! Consider this warm spin on the classic during the holidays, or any day. The whisky and cognac are rich, the vermouth, sweet and spicy.

The original fruitcake dates to ancient Rome and was used by soldiers for sustenance in battles. Roman fruitcake was a mash of barley, honey, wine, dried fruit, and sometimes pomegranate seeds.

3/4 ounce sweet vermouth
1 teaspoon Luxardo cherry syrup
Luxardo cherries
orange twist
