Explore the social and cultural history of The Huntington’s Desert Garden through the lens of food and drink in a new program, “Taste the Gardens.” Maite-Gomez-Rejon of ArtBites and John Trager, curator of the Desert Garden, lead participants through the Desert Garden while sharing its history and sustainability. Following the discussion, participants will prepare mezcal and tequila cocktails while enjoying chips with a fresh cactus pico de gallo in the Ahmanson Classroom.
This in-person class will be held outdoors in the Desert Garden and indoors in the Ahmanson Classroom with space between each workstation to allow for social distancing, including individual prep stations and pre-packaged cocktail ingredients for each participant. Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, class capacity is limited and there will be no waitlist for this program. A portion of the class is outdoors so please dress appropriately for evening weather.
Proof of full vaccination is required to attend this event. Participants must be 21 or older.
